SylphAMP is a Winamp-to-NDS interface; install it in WinAmp as an output plugin and all the audio is streamed to a DS on the local network rather than sent to the speakers.
Download the current release here - v0.03.
See the readme for instructions on how to use. Bear in mind this is an early alpha-style release with possibly the most horrific UI in existance. And it isn't very functional either. But if you want to stream MP3s and so on from WinAmp to your DS, it just about manages that most of the time ;)
Changes in v0.03:
-Turn backlights off when DS is closed
-Option: passthrough to another Winamp output plugin
-Option: downsample audio to mono (on the PC)
-Send playlist straight away when DS connects
-Stop & display error messages if unable to connect to network
-Fix flickering on playlist
In theory you could connect to your home PC via the internet. In practice I haven't tried this (and until NTL upgrade my broadband next month, I won't have enough upload). You'd need to forward port 9883 from the router to the PC running Winamp; it also needs an absolute minimum of 200Kbit upstream from the PC to the DS to work in mono, preferably a bit more, or 384-400Kbit for stereo.

I have no clue what causes it. But I fixed it by renaming it "out_sylph.dll", then it works normally.

How can i can boot the .nds on my M3 CF because it's doesn't work! It freezes when it boot...maybe in building a .nds.gba but how?
Thanks
I LOVE this program!! Excellent piece of work sir. One request tho:
Any way to get a "jump to track" sort of search thing? I have quite a large playlist and sometimes wanna play specific songs but my winamp is on random so all I can do is skip tracks.
Cheers!
For you guys that have supercard, there's a converter that makes .nds files run on supercard at http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=20280
"1 issue, it might be a good idea to put ds.gba files in future releases as its a real pain to find out how to get it to run on your hardware is you are a supercard user."
I hear ya, though I will add that if you boot sylphAMP through another app like moonshell or DSOrganizer, the nds version will boot :P
Worky now :D What a fantastic idea. Any chance of a Shuffle on/off control to the DS? Irritating to find a track you want if you left the host on by accident...
It has trouble connecting though; it always fails unless I do 'test connection' from within Tetris (my only WFC game...) and then immediately it succeeds power off and boot from GBA slot. Maybe it's not quite opening the connection properly?

keep up the good work !!!!! :)
actually 1 problem i have just had is that the mp3s i'm listening to seem to end a little early, i have the encoder set to mono. they are 192kbps and 44khz.
Works real good, will be ideal for running music in the background while playing cs or something, or playing music in the kitchn while makin food or somethin.
Once you get the downsampleing issues sorted out, you have a really cool little program. Imagine when wifi is everywhere, and your music libary is all on your ds.
