any chance of adding saving the default channel/server etc? I had tried to recompile, but got a bunch of "xxxx overlaps at xxxxx" errors and it aborted.
Does this work with Nintendo WiFi USB Connector?
I wish this application would get updated, its a great program, but needs more help.
Heya! I'm planning of getting Supercard (SD). As I've understood, the program doesn't work on it and the patched download link doesn't work. Will the next release fix this issue, or do you have any alternative way of running it on Supercard?
Thanks in advance.
Case sensitivity of channel names needs to be killed.
If I join #channel I get messages from other people who joined #channel but not from people who joined #Channel or #CHANNEL. As it's the same channel, I should get messages from anyone in the channel regardless of how they typed it when they joined. IRC is case insensitive but this client isn't.
This sounds cool..But how do you get this on the DS? =(
Well...seems to be dead. What a pity :(
Try beup (MSN-Messenger for DS with great GUI). Perhaps it qill expand to other networks like IRC.

how do u unzip the .nds file?
any updates? :|
Ficedulaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
my M3CF has been having the name bugging up problem just recently...
so........ has anyone got this working on sc sd yet?
yet it bugs up when i put in a nick.......
oh i used moonshell's dsbuild tool to make it compadible with the supercard
Hm, I don't know how it is in Quakenet, but you should try a server which doesn't need an ident-server running.
Same here, with irc.uk.quakenet.org and b0rk.uk.quakenet.org.
Hangs on:
Looking up your hostname
Checking Ident
Couldn't look up your hostname
No ident response
-HANGS-
When I try to connect to QuakeNET (irc.quakenet.se) it says
*** Looking up your hostname
*** Checking ident
*** Found your hostname
but after that it just stops. The program is still responsive and I can write things using the stylus, but it does not seem to complete the connection to the server. I have tried this many times with the same result :/
@Smurphy
I knew that I was curious if I could edit it so as to put in an auto name and server to make it useful ^_^'
soo 0.04 doesnt work with supercard sd? yet?
@mato45: The cfg has to be put into the folder "SylphIRC" in the root of the card. I haven't tested it, because the M3 SD isn't supported by SylphIRC yet.
@snake_eyes05: Push the symbol on the virtual keyboard...*rolleyes* Push "shift" and then there it is above "shift". It looks a bit weird.
@ficedula: Is there any progress? :)
How can I push on the button # one my DS to reach e server after being on url??
thanks
how do you use the config? and can you put in a server list?
sgstair said that he will fix the broadcast-prob (in next release?) :)
I can't wait for SylphIRC 0.05... :D
Ok, that did the trick. Although I don't like SSID to be broadcasted. Hopefully it gets fixed some day.
What's the last message displayed when it's searching for the AP? Is it ASSOCSTATUS_SEARCHING?
When it is, try to enable SSID broadcast in your router. I had the same problem. Thx to you again, sgstair, if you're reading this ;)
Don't know what might be the problem but it just doesn't work for me. Using Supercard CF and the wifilib examples aren't working either. It just keeps searching for the AP. Compatible games work ok tho.
Add to my comment. Black screen. Whats wrong
When I start SylphIRC from my m3cf, all i see is only screen. Whats wrong?
Then i have two things to say :
1) You are a God
2) I am a dunbass ^^
This rox !
Arachneon....please try to switch to the channel with L+R first :D
Hello, this project is awesome. But i have some problems. I am using a supercard SD . When i run the program it works, i can see the DS in Mirc on my computer, i works when i change the nick, but it does nothing when i send message and it does show the message i send with Mirc, any ideas ?
Hi, Its me again, Here is another bug plus a few suggestions:
Bug: If I scroll up the window and people send a message, it scrolls back down to the very bottom. Its annoying when I want to see what other people have said.
Suggestion: Could you add a scroll bar or indicator so you know how far up or down you are in the window?
Thanks
Hi, I noticed a bug with your IRC program for the NDS. It opens new windows for each channel that has the channel name spelled differently. EX #srb2fun, #Srb2fun, #SRB2fun, etc... This is all suppose to be in the same window, but this is how the person typed in the channel when they joined.
i know how to append a .nds for sc with ndsloader.bin, but it would be easier if you just did it for me =P
works fine here and already love it :)
could you maybe add support for password protected channels? can't ge to my homies because they feel unsafe :)
OK, I'll update to the latest driver & enable reading support in the next release.
If you are using a CF card or similar, the NDS can go anywhere, it doesn't matter so long as you can boot it. The CFG and other files need to go inside a SylphIRC folder in the root of the card.
Also, the channel window should empty itself FIFO-like, it's just a bit unpredictable at the moment when it starts doing so ... the next release will be better in this area, but since I didn't think it was clearing itself totally anyway, I don't know whether that will be fixed :/
Oh man, sorry for bothering so much. It's about the .cfg
I took a look at Chism's site and it says, that it partially supports the following adapters for read-only.
# SuperCard SD
# M3 Adapter SD
# EFA 2
But these are disabled by default. Could you try to enable it in your next version? Because writing isn't needed at all :)
Great, just saw, that you updated it...*rolleyes*
Graphic glitch is gone on my M3-SD, seems to do well :)
Shift works also :)
Where has the config to be put? On root-folder or same folder als sylphirc?
Trying to test it on M3-SD.
Keep up the good work! :]
Another recommendation: When the text-buffer is full, the whole buffer got deleted and one message with it (the last one when the buffer is full).
So it would be great when you make the buffer kinda "FIFO" like in mIRC.
The font could be a bit smaller, too, to see more lines. But thats subjective and not as important.
You app rocks :)
If you add this to the source, it might fix the graphic glitch on M3.
Fix by qw3rty
The M3 boot-menu seems to leave traces in the VRAM and Sprites-VRAM.
Setting the complete VRAM to 0 seems to eliminate the problem.
Include following code right after setting the VRAM-Banks:
for (i = 0; i < (131072/4 * 4); i++)
{
BG_GFX[i] = 0;
}
0.03 works, nice job. Shift and caps lock make it freeze, so don't touch those keys.
Found another "bug": When I change the windows with L & R too often it freezes, too.
Can you be found on IRC somewhere?
PS: Hattrick ;)
Me again. It works even with graphic glitches.
I just found out when it freezes. Everytime I want to use "Shift" or "Caps" it hangs up.
I got the lib working, thanks to sgstair :)
The next problem: I've got graphic glitches all over the main screen (which is not the keyboard).
When I try to connect, it hangs up after some time. I have not got enough time to type server and nick. It just freezes.
People that want to have a .ds.gba, just append the ndsloader.bin to the file.
Then you have your .ds.gba.
can you include the ds.gba in the zip?
I've been trying to connect but cant... Noticed that it says v. 0.01 even though I've downloaded 0.02... How come?
Thanks, I just tried the test (I only read about working WEP & DHCP). The test-app doesn't work neither, damn :(
All the code to do with wifi connecting/authentication is straight from sgstair's wifilib v0.3, so if the wifi test app 0.3 works for you, there's no reason SylphIRC shouldn't work too. Provided you have WFC set up on your DS, that is - you can't enter manual AP details at the moment.
Uhm, great. But it doesn't work on my M3-SD :(
Hangs up at "ASSOCSTATUS_SEARCHING" with a blinking green light for wifi.
I've got WEP and DHCP enabled (IPs given by MAC-address), but it should work with wifilib 0.3....any suggestions? I really WANT that app working :)
Connected/chatted fine with the old version (though found I had to assign an IP for the WFC instead of the dhcp). 002 displays the keyboard on the top screen for me.. makes it a bit difficult to guess what you're typing.
(Using a V2 DS w/ FM7, M3-SDv1)
Works, I can send messages and the people inIRc get them, but I can't see anyone else's messages.
You can Patch it with the NDSloader.bin via a batch file
copy /b C:\other\ndsloader.bin + C:\file.nds Loadedfile.nds
You can use that in the command line aswell, I can get it booted but cant get it connected (SC SD user)
its compatible with sc but a loader has to be put on it, which i belive can be done with ndstool which makes a ds.gba, which you rename to .nds when you put it on your supercard(if you figure this out plz include the file with in the zip!)
Sounds good, looking forward to the next release. :)
one: What in particular needs to be done for SC compatibility?
Medha: Will be implementing better input at some point but I don't know anything about handwriting/glyph recognition myself; if there's a library, maybe I could use it.
RobM: Yeah, I'm working on the touchscreen calibration.
Hey, great work!
I patched it for Supercard users ;)
http://one-space.de/?file=sirc001_scpatched.rar&dl=1
Have fun
Is there a plan to use some glyph recognition e.g. dsmerlin? I'd really like to see that.
The calibration of the keyboard is really off, took like 5 minutes just to enter: irc.servercentral.net . :|
Pretty cool otherwise.
plz ds.gba!
This rocks, You plan on doing AIM or MSN or the sorts soon?
ds.gba for supercard users?
HOLY FUCK I KNOW WHERE YOU'RE FROM.
HOLY FUCK I KNOW WHERE YOU'RE FROM.
Great Job on this bit of kit!
It doesn't quite want to work, but still cool :).
The calibration of the keyboard is q bit off though.
Good luck with further developement.
One thing, do not start adding other chat apps unless irc works! I've seen more then one app die because of it!
